WoF Christmas Carnival Day 2: Favorite Recipe

My favorite things to eat at Christmas always has, and always will be a cake that my, recently passed, Grandma Audrey made for me. My Grandma asked me probably ten years back, what my favorite dessert was and I told her it was angel food cake. So every year since then she would make me an angel food cake and ice it with white icing and put red and green sprinkles on it. Now I know it is a bit nontraditional to ice an angel food cake but I absolutely loved it. Now that Grandma is gone, I know it won't be something that is on the table this year even though I am making the trip to Oklahoma for Christmas but it is a memory I will hold dear.

p.s. click here to read the Wives of Faith post for the day.

I'm sorry about your grandma's passing. I love angel food cake with lemon frosting on it. Nontraditional as well but hits the spot every time.

A true classic! I think you should make it, too! My great grandmother used to make amazing pumpkin pie...so when she passed I just had to keep the tradition going. My family always says they're reminded of Granny's love when they eat my pumpkin pies.
