no kate today.

or any other friday. julie and kenny have decided to let melissa (a friend of julie's that i've babysat for before) watch her on fridays instead. they believe thats its just a better decision for them. i'm sad but i have to respect their decision. thats really all i can say about the issue. i don't feel its my place to make public their personal family decisions. hope you guys have a great day.

busy day.

today was a busy day for kate and i.
we went to my work and picked up my paycheck. then we went to walmart with my dad (which we could have done without). then we came home for a feeding and then went to visit mommy's work. kate was a big hit. everyone loved her of course. then julie had something come up at work so kenny picked up kate today. it was really weird though becaue normally kate is all smiles when one of her parents comes in. but today i was holding her when i opened the door for kenny and her face was completely blank. then kenny told me to go ahead and put her in the carrier and this frown came across her face. when i put her in the carrier, the poor little one started to cry...tears and all. it broke my heart. i've never seen her cry like that. i've seen her fussy but not sad. poor little thing. but eventually we got her smiling again so it was all good. we did alot of running about today but it went well.

first friday with miss kate.

today was my first friday with miss kate. for those of you who don't know, i will be keeping her every friday while her parents are at work so there will probably be at least one picture every friday. what can i say? i'm a photo fanatic and little ones grow so fast that memories need to be held dear. today went very well with only one flaw...i am apparently no good at setting up a pack-and-play but her parents struggled with it too so i don't feel so bad. to improvise i wedged her in between a pillow and the back of the couch and i set beside her to make sure nothing bad happened. i didn't figure it would since she was swaddled in two blankets and can't roll over yet but its better to be safe than sorry. other than that, all was well. we kept up with the feeding schedule. we sat outside for a little bit for fresh air. i also set in front of her while she was in her bouncy seat and sang and talked to her (see picture above). she's so precious. i am absolutely thrilled that i've been given an opportunity to be apart of this little girl's life. she will make fridays the highlight of my week, besides church days of course.
